Developed as the headquarters for a prominent international communications company based in Miami, the project is located along the historic Coral Way corridor. Inspired by the mature Banyan trees lining the boulevard, the building incorporates organic structural components while responding to the local climate and design culture. At ground level, an abstract arcade of randomly arranged steel columns support a concrete overhang representative of the root system of the adjacent Banyan trees while recalling the mid-century modernism found along the busy corridor.
Designed to meet the highest sustainability standards, the project incorporates both passive and active solar control systems creating a vibrant and enjoyable working environment.
The prominent roof structure at the penthouse level shades the large conference center where the companies business is conducted.
The expressive use of materials on the exterior was woven together to form an elegant expressions of modernism that will live on for years to come.
